Taking My Own Advice: Slap Basics With Doug Johns

Share

Meet Doug Johns

I wanted to continue with the ideas from my last article, “Drummers Rule,” and really stress the importance of the bass and drum relationship. No bass player can be truly “complete” without knowing his or her way around a drum kit.

The benefits? Improved time, improved rhythm, and a stronger inner pulse – all of which falls under the umbrella of musicality.

Anyhow, I thought I’d share a little video of how I practice what I preach. Now get out there and jam with somebody…. On the drums!

Thanks
Doug
