Bass Coalition Summer Workshop and Solo Competition

Time: 9 – 5 pm with evening concerts
Location: Shenandoah University, 1460 University Dr, Winchester, VA 22601

The first annual Bass Coalition Summer Workshop and Solo Competition will be hosted at Shenandoah University in Winchester, VA and will take place June 24-26 2010. Faculty will include the David Murray, Inez Wyrick and Donovan Stokes with Special Guest Rufus Reid. There are 10 full-tuition scholarships available. The solo competition live round will take place on June 24, 2010 and is open to entrants under the age of 25 (inclusive), with no minimum age requirement. First prize is $1000.

The Bass Coalition Summer Workshop is open to bassists age 12 to adult and up. In addition to classical and jazz offerings, there will be sessions on amplification, looping, rockabilly slap bass, and more.
