Skjold Design 6-String Fretless

Peter Skjold (pronounced Shold) has spent almost twenty years as a professional bass player and has been been on the constant quest for the most tonally versatile and playable musical instruments available. This ultimately led him to design and commission his own basses in 1992. By 1996, Peter was making saw dust and refining what would become the “Standard ‘92” design. He now builds a full line of custom handmade basses in his shop in Ohio.

Video review format rules… excellent review!

  2. jon says:

the redeemer circuit actually turns the high impedance out put on your bass to a low impedance out. so your signal chain can go on for ever and you have no signal loss. you can plug right into the board if ya want.

  3. Tom7 says:

    Jake, GREAT review.

I prefer the video review over the written text, however…

I wouldn’t mind if there was text under the video with bullet points about the bass… especially its specs.

And Jon, thanks for that clarification about the redeemer circuit.

  4. Jake Wolf Jake says:

Thanks Tom and Billy, that is much appreciated feedback.

Jon, thank you for clarifying the function of the Redeemer circuit. I tried to describe it as it was explained to my by the Skjold, but your wording is very helpful in understanding the advantages of this unique circuit.

  5. Vic says:

Nice review. I’ve played that bass myself and it is truly special.
