Busker.com, home of the global street performance competition, today announced that musicians from around the world are now able to pre-register at www.busker.com for exclusive access to information about the upcoming Busker Prize.
The contest begins Summer 2011 and will give street musicians the opportunity to bring their performances off the street and onto the Web for a chance to entertain the world as well as bring home €20,000. Music fans are encouraged to pre-register as well for all the latest news and information.
“Busking was very familiar to me growing up in Dublin and it’s one of the simplest and most genuine performances an artist can give,” said Justin Moore-Lewy, spokesperson for Busker.com. “I’m very excited to see all of the very diverse and exciting musical performances from around the globe that this contest is sure to attract.”
Official registration is expected to open in April, and entrants will be asked to upload a busking video as well as a personal video testimonial to show the person behind the music. Judging criteria will be announced with official registration. Visit www.busker.com for more information.
