Expanding the Slap Bass Vocabulary with Ray Riendeau – Groove #2…
Hello fellow bassists! For this next slap groove I thought I’d incorporate a technique that might be new to some of you which I call “Rake Down”. This involves fanning out your fingers in a downward motion across a single string or multiple strings. In this groove (measure 2 – beat 4) I attack 5th fret harmonics across the A, D, and G strings. The video will show this technique in detail. This is another groove that really showcases my particular style of slap and I hope it generates some new ideas for you.
