French contrabassist extraordinaire Yves Carbonne is astounding at what he does. Often seen with his Jerzy Drozd 12 string fretless, one may think, “there’s just no way!” but he has one of the most beautiful tones, perfect intonation and incredible musicality. This is a slightly more pop oriented release featuring Guillaume Eyango and his wonderful voice (mostly in English). Musically speaking, this is meant to appeal to a broader audience than most bass players albums, but when you hear that low f# (or the rumblings of notes even lower!) every bass player can’t help but smile. I adore Yves and his tone and very much appreciate what he’s doing here. Kudos!!
