This year’s Summer NAMM will highlight all the latest musical instruments and state-of-the-art technologies heading to retail for the fall and holiday seasons. For the first time NAMM has announced they will open its show floor to students, parents, music advocates and enthusiasts on Sunday, June 20, for “Wanna Play Music Sunday.” These groups are invited to see demonstrations of the latest products, watch unique live musical performances, attend valuable workshops taught by known professional musicians and talk with music products industry insiders.
Some of the “Wanna Play Music Sunday” workshops scheduled include: How to Get More Gigs, Effects 101, Techniques to Hook up Your Gear, Recording Tips and Tricks, and How to Get Endorsed. The event will also feature drumming competitions, free guitar set-ups and restringing, as well as a “Vintage Guitar Roadshow,” where used instruments will be appraised by professionals.
Since 1901, NAMM has grown from a small grassroots organization into an international association now representing 9,000 Members from more than 100 countries worldwide as more children, teens and adults of all ages discover the proven benefits of playing music.
