World-renowned bassist and jazz/fusion recording artist Adam Nitti has announced the opening of MusicDojo Nashville, Music City’s premier bass guitar academy and forum for musical development. Inspired by the online interactive music school MusicDojo.com which Nitti co-founded in 2003, MusicDojo Nashville provides an even more personalized educational experience aimed at sharing Adam’s vision for music education and establishing a musical identity.
Although much of Nitti’s own identity has been defined by his work as a bassist, composer, and frontman on four critically acclaimed solo album releases, he has always maintained a passion for teaching and has over the years published hundreds of columns and lessons dedicated to helping bass players establish an effective plan for improvement and mastery. MusicDojo Nashville now encapsulates all of his efforts to promote effective music education and additionally doubles as headquarters to all of his music media projects and remote recording work.
Located in Franklin, TN, MusicDojo Nashville offers private, group, and webcam lessons for bass players custom-tailored to each student’s needs based on their skill level, experience, and personal goals. All levels and styles of players are welcome, and Nitti teaches from his own custom curriculum that has been developed and refined over the last 15 years. MusicDojo Nashville will also host exclusive masterclasses from some of the finest players and clinicians in the world, covering such topics as performance, education, recording, composition, and production.
“This academy was born from my desire to inspire the pursuit of excellence among players in a current musical climate sometimes void of uniqueness and inspiration. Over the last decade my perspective on music and music education has been significantly transformed. Some of that has to do with how I have grown as a player, but on a much deeper level my past experiences have had me focusing more on the discovery and importance of the less-tangible aspects of music the things that can’t be notated on a staff or explained using music theory. These are the cognitive elements that are actually the most communicative and inspiring components of music, and they ultimately connect the performer with the listener. My plan is for MusicDojo Nashville to not only be a place where players can establish a solid academic foundation, but also go far beyond academics in the pursuit of their own identity by exploring the deeper aspects of communicating through music. We will also be regularly offering workshops and clinics from some of the greatest players, composers, producers, and engineers in the business. This won’t just be a place where you will only be exposed to my own musical philosophies or the bass guitar; it will be a resource center that promotes creative exploration and a diversity of educational perspectives applicable to any instrument or genre.”
