Falls Church, VA – May 14, 2011 (8am – 5pm)
The Westin Tysons Corner
A typical day at BassBreak LIVE! is not so typical! That’s a good thing! Students arrive EARLY with great excitement and anticipation, around 7:00a.m. – 7:30a.m. While everyone is being seated, enthusiasm continues to build as they bop to the groove of background bass jams and mingle with fellow bass players. Vendors such as local music stores, music schools, and gear manufacturers are all set up and ready to go! Let’s begin! For warm up purposes, Step-to-the-Plate” BassBall Game is in session. During this time, students have the opportunity to jam along with each other as well as with guest instructors. (Everybody has their bass!) Imagine that, a room full of bass!
Clinics and Master Classes are usually the main attraction at BBL! This is where students remain on the edge of their seat as they soak up new ideas, techniques, new challenges, and new inspiration! Each session usually run approximately 1.5 – 2hrs unless otherwise specified. Sponsored product informational seminars are held throughout the day as well. These seminars provide students with useful information concerning new gear, bass effects products and much more!
BassBite begins at 12:00p.m. until 1:00p.m. All students, crew members, and instructors gather at the area’s premier eatery of choice to enjoy lunch and open forum bass talk. (Very Tasteful) Students are welcome to explore other restaurants in the area as well! At 1:00p.m., students return excited and ready for more bass learning! More clinics and master classes are in session as well as a performance by guest instructors! Other guest instrumentalists are always in attendance as well. You never know who will show up at BBL! There is a setup for drummers, guitar players, piano players, etc.! The students enjoy witnessing guest instructors jam and interact with one another as well. All BBL students and participants should be prepared to pose with their bass in the Official BassBreak LIVE! Group Picture that is scheduled at every BBL event. By the end of the day, students’ commitment to the instrument is stimulated! Each student and participant leaves refreshed and equipped to go another level in their musical journey. At BassBreak LIVE!…”It’s All About Sharing!”
