In recent years, Mastodon has taken the metal scene by storm with critically acclaimed albums and sold out concerts. First in line at Mastodon concerts stands bass player and vocalist Troy Sanders, who has now decided to have TC Electronic’s Blacksmith bass amp and RS410 bass cabinets deliver the raw power and low-end punch he needs on the stage. According to Troy Sanders four words sum up the character and nature of the Blacksmith bass amp:“Power, warmth, clarity and drive. I’m rocking the Blacksmith every night – it’s killer!”
After taking Blacksmith for a test drive, Troy Sanders was so hooked on the amp that he decided to bring it along to the studio as the band set out to record its new album ‘The Hunter’ which was released only a few days ago.
To celebrate Mastodon’s new album release and Troy Sanders’ choice to become a Bass Amp 2.0 pioneer, TC Electronic is throwing a contest running from 3 to 21 October 2011. The prize is a TC Electronic RH750 bass amp, which has been signed by Troy Sanders. RH750 and Blacksmith feature the exact same preamp section so in terms of tonality and flexibility, they are very similar. To participate in the competition, contestants just have to ‘Like’ TC Electronic on Facebook.
