Big Picture Media SXSW 2012 Bands…  The following Big Picture Media bands will be performing at SXSW



The Used will be releasing their new album Vulnerable out March 27th via their own label Anger Music Group partnered with Hopeless Records. The band will be in Austin Texas to headline the Alternative Press Showcase as well as perform at the BandPage HQ event. They will be playing Soundwave Festival in Australia and be on a headlining tour this summer. The Used have sold over 3 Million albums and their first single “I Come Alive” is getting heavy radio play.

The melodic indie pop outfit known as States has self-released their highly anticipated debut LP “Room to Run,” on October 18th, 2011. States materialized after indie-scene favorites, Copeland, disbanded.  Guitarist brothers Bryan and Stephen Laurenson began conceptualizing their new creative musical venture and the duo acquired Mindy White, formerly of Lydia. After hitting the road in support of the record with Circa Survive and Maps & Atlases, as well as a mini tour with Anberlin, it’s no doubt this album has shown great success! They have recently been feature on the lkes of Nylon Magazine,, Wall Street Journal, Alternative Press Magazine, CBS Radio, NBC NonStop Sound, CMJ and more.

Lily & The Parlour Tricks SXSWLILY & THE PARLOUR TRICKS:


This NYC based retro rock n’roll band had an amazing year at CMJ where they released their self-titled EP right at the beginning of the festival, which created a great amount of buzz! Picture a night of soaring 3-part harmonies, burning rhythms, steamy dancing and a hell of a lot of bourbon and you get a typical live show by Lily & The Parlour Tricks. A band so musically intriguing, you’d be crazy not to dive right into the cheeky fun. They have recently been featured on the likes of MTV, Wall Street Journal, NY Daily News, The Daily Candy, AOL’s Spinner, Relix, etc.

Fresh off a UK tour with All Time Low, and currently co-headling a US/UK tour with Every Avenue, We Are The In Crowd has had a busy year following the success of their album, Best Intentions, released in October of 2011The pop rock quartet shows no sign of slowing down in 2012, recently spotlighted as one of Warped Tour’s featured bands on the 2012 Vans Warped Tour.

The indie trio, known as Mercies, is back in action set to release their new EP, The Ballet, on March 27th. After the success of their debut album,Three Thousand Days, it’s without a doubt this will be a highly anticipated release. Consisting of some new materials, some reworked material, and the score for a ballet commissioned by The Charlottesville Ballet, this release will serve just as unique as the band itself. They have been featured on AOL Music’s Spinner, Relix, My Old Kentucky Blog, PacSun Music, The Boston Globe, The Deli, etc.

The Gallery’s hook-laden rock songs combine a mix of mainstream appeal and professionalism with indie cred and likeability. In the fall of 2010, the band recorded five new songs with producer Warren Huart (The Fray, Augustana, Aerosmith) at Swing House Studios in Hollywood. The tracks were released on the “Come Alive” EP in February 2011, earning the band attention from such nationally recognized publications as Rolling Stone, Alternative Press and AOL Spinner, and nation-wide college radio airplay landing the band on the CMJ charts.Now in 2012, the band returns to Southern California, but this time on a more permanent basis. The Gallery will be residing in the Los Angeles area, while playing shows throughout the Southwest and writing and recording new material. Keep an eye out for new songs, tour dates, and an exciting year in 2012.

June Divided SXSWJUNE 


The Philly based rock band, June Divided, released their debut EP, The Other Side of You, on Feb. 11th, 2011. Just starting off they have already blown the scene away being featured in Alternative Press Magazine, Absolute Punk, Smart Punk, Radio 104.5 (Live at Five), NBC’s “The 10! Show”, WXPN, as well as having their video for hit single “Bullet” feature on mtvU. The band is currently in the studio recording their debut album set for May/June release!

This indie rock four-piece just released their new album, Unpleasant Companion, on Feb. 7th, 2012. The album was recorded in four days to capture a live dynamic onto 16-track 2-inch analog tape with legendary Chicago engineer Steve Albini (Nirvana, Pixies, PJ Harvey, Page and Plant, Iggy Pop and the Stooges). The result was a raw and powerful rock sound that will put the listener right inside their live experience! The album has already shown great success being featured on AOL Music, GuitarWorld, Relix, and more.

Formed at the musical haven of Berklee College of Music, Super Prime consists of Austin Bond (vocals, bass), Adam Newall (vocals, guitar), and Marcus James (drums). The band fiercely stepped out into the Boston rock scene in the spring of 2011, mere moments after their inception. After the success of their EP, “Sun’s Out Gun’s Out,” Super Prime is back in the studio recording their debut full-length, #FML, which will release March 13th. In support of the album’s release, the pop punk trio will be touring the US with Set Your Goals, Cartel, Hit The Lights, Mixtapes and Fireworks, followed by a UK tour with We Are The In Crowd, The Summer Set and Every Avenue.

This Pop-tinged Alt Rock quartet formed through a CraigsList ad posted by female drummer, Taylor Hughes. In 2011, Car Party’s single, “Please Me” was an instant success, skyrocketing to #2 on PureVolume within a week of Substream’s music video premiere. The band’s EP, “High & Low Places,” produced by The Early November’s Ace Enders, put Car Party on the map, landing them a spot in Alternative Press’s coveted AP&R feature. The band is looking forward to touring in 2012!

The Body Rampant is a five-piece alternative/experimental band that was created in early 2009 in the wake of the break up of Ohio based hardcore band Every Bridge Burned. With some crucial new members, the band is heavier, more melodic, and more passionate than ever. They are prepped and geared to released their single ‘New Riot Central’ and B-Side ‘1984’ produced by Todd Weinstock (former Glassjaw guitarist). Recently acquiring a new booking agent/manager Mike Spearmen at The Pulse Agency, touring will be their first priority after SXSW, along with writing/demoing their debut full length album.

The Ugly Club is a diverse and ever-growing project of musical ideas and stylings. Contrived of Ryan Egan, Taylor Mandel, Joe Stasio, Ryan Mcnulty, and Rick Sue-Poi, the band is formulating a new brand of psychedelic indie-rock reminiscent of bands like Wilco and My Morning Jacket. The group has self produced & released two EPs, “Sing What You Want” and their latest “Visions of Tall Girl,” which was engineered and produced by guitarist Joe Stasio.  Their debut full-length album is currently in production and expected out early Summer 2012. The group has received praise from online publications such as, Deli Magazine, & The Music Slut as well as surpassing 100k downloads on Frostwire & debuting live on Balcony TV Brooklyn.

Glory Days is a band hailing from the western suburbs of NYC in New Jersey. Greatly influenced by the rich history of rock n roll culture their native state is known for, the group has certainly welcomed a sound true to their own. They are one of the hottest unsigned rock acts in the US. Be ready for Glory Days, a household name.

With a shock of flame-red hair and a four-octave voice that can shake the rafters, Casey Desmond is not one to be easily overlooked. Just ask Adam Levine, who picked the Boston artist for his team on NBC’s The Voice after hearing her power through Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way.”  Born and raised in a recording studio by her two musician parents, her bedroom houses a collection of vintage synths and keyboards.Her dramatic fashion sense and quirky personality lure listeners to the dance floor in seconds flat. Her accomplishments include writing/recording with acclaimed producers Robert Ellis Orrall (Taylor Swift, Martina McBride, Lindsay Lohan), Chris Henderson, (R Kelly, Trey Songz, Jamie Foxx) Anthony J. Resta (Elton John, Collective Soul, Shawn Mullins, Duran Duran), Grammy-Award winner Will Ackerman and bassist Tony Levin (Peter Gabriel) as well as appearing in a Universal Music compilation alongside Amy Winehouse and Duffy.

To Write Love on Her Arms is a non-profit movement dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide. TWLOHA exists to encourage, inform, inspire and also to invest directly into treatment and recovery. Since its start in 2006, they have donated over $1,000,000 directly into treatment and recovery and have answered over 160,000 emails from over 100 countries. TWLOHA has one of the largest online audiences of any non-profit on both Facebook and MySpace, and has been featured on NBC Nightly news with Brian Williams, CBS Sunday Morning,, Rolling Stone and founder Jamie Tworkowski has won an MTVU Woodie Award. TWLOHA was most recently awarded a $1 million grant from Chase at the first-ever American Giving Awards (AGAs) announced on NBC.
