Stanley Clarke Scholarship Foundation

For the past 12 years Stanley and Sofia Clarke through the Stanley Clarke Scholarship Foundation have provided scholarships for talented and very deserving young artists as they prepare for a career in music. In collaboration with The Musicians Institute, the foundation produces an annual concert, which featured some of the top names in music. This year it will be August 8th 2013.  Some of the talents who have participated in past events include, Stevie Wonder, Bela Fleck, Sheila E, Stuart Copeland, Flea, Marcus Miller, Al Di Meola, Lenny White, Patrice Rushen and Jean Luc Ponty, as well as many others.

The Stanley Clarke Foundation reflects its namesake’s commitment to empowering generations of musicians to achieve their highest professional aspirations, regardless of socioeconomic circumstances.

Last year not only did the winner receive a sizable scholarship he also toured with Stanley and George Duke during there 2012 -2013 touring schedule. What a great experience for a 22-year-old college student from Chicago.
