D’addario Ns Micro Headstock Tuner
D’Addario | Planet Waves is proud to announce that their new NS Micro Tuner won a Best In Show award at the 2013 Summer NAMM Show! Best In Show, the gear-centric panel discussion at Summer NAMM, delivered 24 new products and services that an expert panel of music product retailers deemed to be the best they saw during NAMM’s annual summer convention. Six retail-buying experts shopped Summer NAMM in selecting their top products in four categories. Then, they presented their Best In Show selections on July 13 at the Davidson Ballroom of the Music City Center.
Categories included:
Best In Show — The best product or service that panelists saw at NAMM
Company To Watch — An exhibitor with trendsetting products or services
Gotta Stock It — A product that retailers want to stock right now, if they haven’t already
Best Accessories And Add-ons — A great product from the small-goods arena
This session’s panelists included:
• Mike Guillot, director of purchasing, Mississippi Music, a four-store chain headquartered in Hattiesburg, Miss.
• Donovan Bankhead, vice president, Springfield Music, a three-store chain headquartered in Springfield, Mo.
• Brad Boynton, owner, Rhythm Traders, an independent percussion retailer in Portland, Ore.
• Paul Decker, owner, Music Villa, an independent retailer in Bozeman, Mont.
• Tim Pratt, president of Dietze Music, a four-store chain headquartered in Lincoln, Neb.
• Myrna Sislen, owner, Middle C Music, an independent retailer in Washington, D.C.
The new NS Micro Tuner was among this year’s selections in the “Best Accessories & Add-Ons” category! Designed in conjunction with Ned Steinberger, Planet Waves’ NS Micro Tuner’s stealthy, lightweight design allows it to be clipped to the back of the headstock. This allows for the musician to have a full view of the screen while the tuner remains virtually undetectable by the audience. This easy-to-use tuner is concealed and blends in with the aesthetics of the instrument. For an even more user-friendly experience, Planet Waves has improved the ratchet clip-on design. The tuner can also stay on the guitar while in the case, so you never lose track of your tuner again.
The NS Micro’s improved tuning software offers faster note recognition and accuracy over its forerunner, while still providing accurate tuning by using an ultra-sensitive piezo sensor system. This tuner is great for loud and dark stages; the simple, multi-color, backlit display shows the note name in red to indicate when the note is out of tune and green to reveal when the note is in tune.
NS Micro Tuner has an expanded calibration range for multiple musical situations and even includes a visual metronome for practicing on the go.
“Living up to its reputation as one of the most innovative companies in the music product industry, D’Addario/Planet Waves is proud to accept the Best in Show Award for this new NS Micro Tuner, the next iteration in its family of clip-on, headstock tuners,” says Planet Waves Product Manager, Rob Cunningham. “Always striving to improve, we’re thrilled about this new iteration of Planet Waves’ clip-on tuner.”
The NS Mini Headstock Tuner is currently shipping and retails for $32.99.
