Guilty pleasure time… Don’t be afraid to admit it, we’ve all found ourselves singing along to this classic by Wham!
It’s incredibly catchy and moves along at a relentless pace helped no end by Deon Estus, bass player born in Detroit. He was taught by the late great James Jamerson and you can see the influence in the chromatic fills found throughout this piece. There are some great high register lines in sections D and H and also some slap lick to get stuck into. Don’t allow the syncopation in the choruses or the triplets let you fall behind the beat. You can hear how much fun he’s having when he recorded the line, make sure that your audiences hear that too!
