Bassist, composer, and producer Adam Nitti has released his latest solo album, Not Of This World on his own Renaissance Man Records label.
A diverse collection of tunes combining elements of jazz, funk, blues and rock, this latest effort further establishes Nitti as a seasoned composer and secures his status as one of the premier modern voices on the electric bass. Featuring performances from an international cast of celebrated musicians, Not Of This World is now available in CD, FLAC, mp3/320, and mp3 formats via CDBaby.com, as well as through a variety of online music retailers.
“I aspired for this album to be my most mature compositional work to date,” states Nitti, who began the recording artist portion of his career back in 1995 with the release of his first album, Adam Nitti & Liquid Blue. “Particularly with my last few albums, I have wanted to put more of an emphasis on composition rather than just my role as a bassist. Although many of my arrangements offer a backdrop for me to exercise my own voice on the bass guitar, ultimately I want to make music that appeals to music lovers of all kinds, rather than just target a musician audience. My hope is that Not Of This World will accomplish that and inspire a diverse group of listeners from a variety of backgrounds.”
Nitti has establishing his own voice as a bassist and recording artist for nearly two decades. His previous four solo albums have earned him international acclaim, but he has also been notably involved as a sideman and contributor on countless projects from artists all over the world. He has performed and recorded on projects with such artists such as the Dave Weckl Band, Susan Tedeschi, Jon Anderson, Mike Stern, Heather Headley, Wayne Krantz, Steven Curtis Chapman, and Suzy Bogguss, and through his role as a studio musician in Nashville has also performed on several Grammy-winning and Grammy-nominated albums to date.
