Bassist Angela Phillips, Part of the Duo A Deer A Horse, Drop New Singles…
Brooklyn-based indie-rock group, A Deer A Horse, announce their new split single “Gunpoint/Mother” Night. In the past year, the band has tuned their skills by performing at NYC staples, like Cake Shop, Glasslands and Rough Trade, before cutting the forthcoming 7”.
The core duo of Rebecca Satellite (guitar, vocals) and Angela Phillips (bass, vocals) met back in 2011 after attending Sarah Lawrence College. Satellite was initially doing solo work, but, after moving to Brooklyn, she re-connected with Phillips to create the Patience EP. Since then, A Deer A Horse have been readying a number of live-tested singles including, “Fighter,” which the band recorded at Converse Rubber Tracks.
Speak Into My Good Eye has previously championed A Deer A Horse saying, “The dynamic of the band—split between Rebecca Satellite’s sometimes-natural, sometimes-unhinged cool and Angela Phillips’ thundering bass— makes them worthy torch bearers of the Cobain/Novoselic pop-grunge legacy.” Look out for more from A Deer A Horse coming soon.
