Kilian Duarte Covers the Star-studded Darkglass Showcase
Kilian Duarte Covers the Star-studded Darkglass Showcase for Bass Musician Magazine…
It was a star-studded evening at the Gibson Showroom on 54th Street May,14th. The pioneering bass pedal builders at Darkglass Electronics were unveiling a sneak preview of their new pedals for the bass public to experience. With stars such as Percy Jones and Billy Gould from Faith No More there, it was an event to witness for sure! Billy came in to do a meet and greet with the invited before his show with FTM that night in Manhattan, he was the picture of cool and was taking photo ops with everyone who asked. Founder Doug Castro had recently installed a Darkglass overdrive and preamp into Billy’s signature Zon bass. Industry leaders Phil Jones Bass, EBS amplification and LaBella strings were in attendance as well, providing backline rigs and a try out bass for the event.
The pedals on main display were the new Super Symmetry and Harmonic Booster pedals, both with sleek steel design and laser engraved lettering. The Super Symmetry was a hit with everyone with its wide range of professional compression and very cool light up led meter for levels. The Harmonic Booster gave bassists a taste of the Darkglass preamp in a portable and convenient package with the same equal Finish hand made quality. In the main room the Darkglass staples of Vintage Microtubes, B7K, B3K, and Fuzz pedals kept the room shaking with rock energy and overdrive.
Bassists from all over the Northeast and even the world were in attendance making this a really cool night filled with bass, wine and friends. Keep on the look out for the Super Symmetry Pedal and Harmonic Booster coming sometime soon, they are worth checking out!
