Name: Eva Muck
Born In What City: Budapest
Current Band(s) I Play With: J.M.J. Trio
Former Bands I Have Played With: Robbie Williams Tribute Band (UK)
The Way I Play Bass: I play with fingerstyle or slappin’ rytmic and/or fast grooves.
Why I Decided to Play Bass: I wanted to rebell when I was 14 and I ended up with the bass. Now I know it was a great choice.
My Musical Influences: My father: Ferenc Muck (saxophone), my bass teacher: Szapi, as well as Jaco Pastorius, Mark King, Marcus Miller, Flea, Tal Wilkenfeld
My Favorite Musical Styles: Funk, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Jazz-Rock, Funk-Rock
My Bass(es): Squier Precision with active electricity, Kala U-bass
The Best Bass Advice I Have Ever Received: If you want to widen your limits on bass, you should practice every exercise and track in a very slow and a very rapid tempo as well, beyond the normal tempo.
How Does It Feel to Be the Winner of the 2015 Queen of Strings Competition: I’m very thankful and motivated to develop my bass skills. This is a great feedback for me.
Dream Gig: To play in the Wembley Arena in front of thousands of people.
Most Embarrassing Moment on Stage: I sneezed on my bass during a fast walking bass groove and the funny thing is that only the guitar player stopped playing because she had to laugh so much.
What Would I Be Doing If I Weren’t a Musician: I probably would be a German or English interpreter/translater.
