Review – Prince Bass Transcriptions by Aidan Hampson…
Just released from Aidan Hampson is the Prince Bass Transcriptions. The book includes eleven of what are the best-known songs, with everything from the simple groove of Raspberry Beret to the funky bass line from Cream, and the ever-popular great Purple Rain, which will keep you busy for some time. The bass lines were played by Prince himself, as well as Brown Mark and Sonny T. The book is made complete with accurate notation, tab, chord changes, and tempo. Prince created some really great music along with fabulous bass lines and this can add inspiration to many.
There are eleven songs including 1999, Little Red Corvette, Let’s Go Crazy, Purple Rain, Raspberry Beret, Sign o’ the Times, U Got the Look, Diamonds and Pearls, Cream, Gett Off, and The Most Beautiful Girl in the World. I’ve played through these with the actual recordings and these are the most spot-on and accurate bass transcriptions I have ever come across. You owe it to yourself to check out Prince Bass Transcriptions by Aidan Hampson. It is available from Aidan, along with quite a few other bass transcriptions including David Bowie, Dire Straits, Michael Jackson, Green Day, LeLand Sklar, Alberto Rigoni, and many more. These are all available in PDF format at an unbelievably low cost with more bass transcriptions added all the time!
