Trickfish Amplification welcomes the consummate bassist, composer, and producer Roberto Valley to the Trickfish Family

Trickfish is honored to welcome seasoned pro Roberto Vally into the rapidly growing Trickfish family of artists. Brooklyn born and raised, Roberto’s vast career has taken him around the world in support of some of the greatest artists of our time. By the age of 11 he was gigging at churches, dance parties block parties and other events. His education jump started at the New York’s High School of Music and Art and continued on to Julliard where he was mentored by the prominent professor, Homer Mensch. His exposure to a wide range of musical styles and the deep artistic culture of New York City emboldened him to break out and seek a global profile. He toured with an R&B band to Europe and Canada that ultimately landed him the bass chair in Spyro Gyra. In 1991 Roberto moved west to Los Angeles where he landed a choice gig with Bobby Caldwell. In a very short time became Randy Crawford’s Musical Director heading her global tours and leading stellar bands in support of her music. His performance, recording and writing credits are deep: George Benson, Christopher Cross, Jeffrey Osborne, Bob James, Al Jarreau, Hillary Duff, David Benoit, Boz Scaggs, Kirk Whalum, Bobby Caldwell, Patti Austin, Arturo Sandoval, Jeff Golub, Peter White, Norman Brown, Paul Brown, Boney James, Ric Braun, Michael Lington, Richard Elliot, Joan Sebastian, Johnny Rivers, Eric Darius, Anna Barbara, Alvaro Torres, Los Trio, Ricardo Arjona, Nils, Bob James, Patti Austin, Boney James, Randy Crawford, Kirk Whalum, Ric Braun, Richard Elliot, Nils, Ken Navaro, Jeff Kashiwa and Euge Groove to name a few. “I did a gig at Yoshi’s in Oakland and the house amp was a Trickfish rig. I had never heard of it before but the staff insisted I would love it so off we go. By the end of the night I was utterly blown away by the complexity of the tone, the headroom, everything and had to find out more. I got their phone number and at 8:00 am the next day I called the company and it turns out that an old friend, Richard Ruse is the founder and owner. Over the next two days I called him 8 times because my mid was blown and I had to understand why. I went over to Richard’s place and sat in front of my current rig and a/b’d the Trickfish – it wasn’t close. I’m not embarrassed to say I feel like a 15 year old girl at a Katy Perry meet and greet!” states Vally. “I’m in. I’ve offered to beta test new product, evangelize – do whatever it takes to get the word out about this phenomenal gear. I haven’t felt this way about an amp since I first heard a SWR rig back in the 80’s”.

“What can I say – Roberto is a force of nature. His skills are without question and his experience is only outweighed by his enthusiasm. All of us here at Trickfish are really happy, honored and humbled to be associated with such a gifted artist and exceptional human being.” says Ruse. “I think our new tag applies here – amazing gear for amazing people. Roberto is amazing!”
