The first Guitar Summit will take place from September, the 8th to September, the 10th, 2017 – an event thoroughly dedicated to the guitar and bass.

Throughout an extensive weekend, from Friday through Sunday, Mannheim will become the center of the international guitar world and gear up for electric guitars, acoustics, basses, fx-pedals, amps, accessories, and more.

The Guitar Summit will be held at the m.con Congress Center Rosengarten. With a total area of 25.000 square meters this traditional concert location lies in the heart of the city, within 5 minutes walking distance to the central train station, right at the beginning of the pedestrian precinct, surrounded by hotels, music clubs, and bars. And those who travel by car can use the car park right underneath the Rosengarten.

There will be a separate area for acoustic guitars apart from showrooms for electric guitars/basses, amplifiers, and microphones. An extra space will be reserved for the luthiers of the European Guitar Builders Guild (Holy Grail Guitar Show). Another feature of the Guitar Summit will be the Gitarre & Bass Pedal Show which will attract everyone who is interested in effects and pedals. The field of vintage guitars and basses will be honored with a special exhibition. We also welcome all kind of accessories as bags, books, merchandise, and many more.

At the Guitar Summit the visitors can get hands-on information on all news of the guitar industry, talk shop with exhibitors, manufacturers, and artists or visit concerts, workshops, and clinics at several venues. To make this all possible without sudden hearing loss and shouting we will address the volume issue with utmost attention. During the Guitar Summit the clubs of Mannheim and the Rosengarten will be bustling with accompanying programs and events.

All exhibitors will be offered easy and professional logistics. We provide optimum conditions to transport the exhibits directly from the trucks to the booths and to store containers. To make an attendance at this unique event possible for everyone the fees for exhibitors and visitors will be

moderate. The Guitar Summit will be organized by Gitarre & Bass – the special interest magazine by musicians for musicians, supported by the Mannheimer Gründerzentren GmbH and the Mannheim Congress GmbH.

And why Mannheim of all places? Mannheim is a city of music! The local Pop-Akademie is internationally known for their prestigious lecturers and constantly up to date curriculum. On top of it the Musikpark it is the only German business incubation and development center for music entrepreneurs. The music scene of the city is legendary and lists all kinds of celebrities: from the classical school of Mannheim to the blues & soul singer Joy Fleming and last but not least Xavier Naidoo and the Söhne Mannheims. Additionally Mannheim is a Unesco City of Music since 2014! And to top it off this city is ideal in terms of traffic (30 min by car or train from Frankfurt Airport FRA), it is equipped with a wide catchment area, and it provides many affordable hotels and restaurants in the immediate vicinity of the Rosengarten.

By the way the fabulous luthier Friedrich Gretsch, whose instruments were plaid by icons like Chet Atkins, Scotty Moore, Brian Setzer, and Mark Knopfler, was also born in Mannheim. With the Guitar Summit Mannheim will be under the banner of the GUITAR in 2017 once again. It’s a match!
