EarthQuaker Devices to Host Third-Annual EarthQuaker Day

EarthQuaker Devices to Host Third-Annual EarthQuaker Day August 4, 2018

Local effects pedal manufacturer EarthQuaker Devices hosts the third-annual EarthQuaker Day at their downtown Akron facility (350 W. Bowery St.) on Saturday August 4, 2018 from 10:30am until 6:00pm. (RSVP: www.facebook.com/events/1804781159534189/Immediately following the event at EarthQuaker HQ, the party moves to Lock 3 for the PRS Guitars EarthQuaker Day Riff Contest Finals plus performances by the Black Sabbath tribute BLACK SABATH and the Danzig tribute GLANZIG.

EarthQuaker Day 2018 is two parts music festival, three parts customer appreciation day, one-part effects pedal factory open house, one-part art installation, and one-part street fair with a pinch of fun and games, and a side of bazaar – a collection of like-minded, enthusiastic, and talented individuals coming together in celebration of the quirkiness, innovation, and “anything goes” attitude that makes Akron, Ohio the-heart-of-it-all in The Heart of It All – a wonderful place to live and work.

New for 2018, attendees have the opportunity to register online for Pedal Building Workshops to build an Arrows™ pre-amp booster, Acapulco Gold™ power-amp distortion, or Speaker Cranker™ overdrive under the expert guidance of EQD’s production staff!

Participants will learn the same methods and techniques used by EQD builders every day, and best of all, it’s new pedal day! Please visit earthquakerday.com/workshop/ for more information and to register. Plus, we’ve upgraded our second stage to include a fully-equipped professional PA system, and we’ve added more activities for children and families courtesy of smARTStudio!

Music lovers of all ages are invited to EarthQuaker Devices HQ for live music, local art and business installations, food by Square Scullery, Bent Tree Coffee, guided workshop tours, pedal doodles, free raffle prizes, door prize giveaways, pedal clinics, single-day savings on EarthQuaker Devices effects pedals, fun and games!

This year’s musical lineup marks the reunion of two massively influential Akron bands:

The Man I Fell In Love With and Houseguest, plus performances by Uno Lady, Shivering Timbers, Lisa Bella Donna, and This Moment In Black History.

This year’s presenting sponsors are SamAsh Music and 91.3 the Summit FM.

Attendees are encouraged to donate their like-new or gently-used musical instruments to 91.3’s MusicAlive program to help provide musical education for Akron Public School students in need. Visit www.earthquakerday.com for more information. EarthQuaker Devices extends enormous gratitude to our sponsors:
