This is one of the most amazing and rare instruments I’ve ever played!! Built by Leo Fender so he could try different pickups, electronics and pickup placement for future instruments. He called it a “Breadboard instrument” and he had bass and guitar versions. The special thing about this particular one is that it has a Fender bridge, Music Man neck (my personal favorite all time neck)and G&L MFD pickups, all of Leo’s creations put into one instrument. #Repost @nollyggd ・・・ My two beautiful @dingwallguitars Afterburners hanging out. The yellow 6-string is the bass I used on the @periphery Juggernaut records and subsequent touring cycle, It inspired the NG-2 model with the ability to use the bridge and middle pickups in series for huge output and midrange grind. These basses have a smoother and lower mid focussed sound next to the bright, springy and aggressive sound of the NG series but all of them have the unmistakeable glorious Dingwall piano-like attack and clarity.
