New Album: Mike Claiborne, The House That Bass Built

Bassist Mike Claiborne’s latest EP titled The House That Bass Built, featuring seven new original compositions, has been released.

THTBB is Mike’s fourth solo release and his first collection of original material in seven years. This latest set of full production instrumentals features much bass guitar as a melodic and solo instrument which Mike performs on both fretted and fretless custom K. Butler MC33 basses.

Like his previous releases, The House That Bass Built also showcases Mike Claiborne’s production and keyboard skills, which are also featured throughout.

The compositions on THTBB range stylistically as a mix of jazz, fusion, reggae, funk, and smooth jazz with a strong emphasis on melodic and harmonic content and arrangement.
