Gear News: SOLD OUT in 6 DAYS – Tech 21 Geddy Lee MP40 Signature SansAmp Special Charity Edition
Limited to just 200 pieces, each personally autographed by Geddy Lee, the Special Charity Edition of his Tech 21 MP40 Signature SansAmps sold out in only 6 days on Reverb.
The Mission Continues
According to Dale Krevens, VP of Tech 21, “We are overjoyed the MP40s have sold out so quickly. Proceeds from the sales will be going to two notable charities honoring the memory of Neil Peart, Geddy’s long-time friend and bandmate.
But we don’t want to stop here.
We’re asking everyone to join us and Geddy in our mission by generously donating directly to these charities.”
• Cedars-Sinai for Glioblastoma Research in Memory of Neil Peart
After being diagnosed with glioblastoma, Neil Peart was given mere months to live. With their exemplary expertise, care and support, Cedars-Sinai, Los Angeles, turned those months into years.

• The Neil Peart Memorial at Lakeside Park
Raised in St. Catharines, Ontario, Neil never forgot his hometown, memorializing the summers of his youth spent in Port Dalhousie with the song “Lakeside Park.” In 2020, St. Catharines City Council voted to honour and mark his contributions by naming their newly rebuilt structure the Neil Peart Pavilion at Lakeside Park. A larger memorial featuring bronze sculptures of Peart in his younger and later years, connected by a pathway with interpretive panels, is currently being developed at the park, with fundraising efforts underway to complete the art installation.

Originally released in 2021, the all-analog Geddy Lee MP40 Signature SansAmp celebrates the 40th Anniversary of “Moving Pictures.” The design features custom artwork paying tribute to the iconic album cover by Hugh Syme. Building upon the original Geddy Lee YYZ pedal, it includes the addition of a selectable Boost stomp switch, which provides a 12dB presence boost for increased top-end distortion. The Shape-shifter button then gives you an extra 6dB of Schmegilka on top, which, according to Geddy, “is an indefinable thing of awesomeness!“
The MP40 Limited Edition also sold out quickly, which prompted Tech 21 to issue the currently available Geddy Lee YYZ Shape-shifter Signature SansAmp. It has the same color scheme and graphics as Geddy’s other Signature SansAmps and has the same features and functionality of the MP40.
