I remember the day when I decided to learn how to play the bass. I went into my local music store where my son already had been taking private Saxophone lessons for years and started seriously looking for my “Ax”.

As I wandered around the various basses on display, a helpful salesman appeared to assist me in my search. He said on thing that has always stuck with me. “If you want to play Bass, find one that feels right for you and then find a teacher!”

That said, I don’t think there is a substitute for a real live teacher but Marks’ DVD is a great adjunct to compliment the learning process.

The key word in the title is “Total”! Mark is extraordinarily thorough and organized in his approach to teach the mastery of the entire fretboard. He starts at a level that beginners can follow and raises the bar up to a point where a professional can benefit. Anyone that watches can learn something of value in this very complete course.

There is a lot of material here (I will let you look up the details if you want them) and you must be willing to do some work to get through it. (About four hours runtime) If you are looking to learn more theory, more techniques, patterns and applications and scales, then this DVD is for you.

Additional bonus features include an on screen tuner and Metronome, The basses of TSTA, and Mark’s Bass guitar solos.

Think about it…. You can learn something from this DVD that your teacher didn’t give you and you can surprise him when you show up for your next class!
