Puerto Rican born Aldemar Valentin has released one very impressive live recording here. The quartet deftly navigates these original compositions with musicality and flexibility. These guys are really listening to each other and the interactions are beautiful. Inspired by his studies with Danilo Perez and Bob Moses while studying in Boston at New England Conservatory, the music ebbs and flows with a special attention to nothing other than the music itself. Aldemar’s playing is superb (6-string Ken Smith) and the group sound is beautiful. Highly recommended!
