Jessie Jay – Price Tag Bass Transcription

Published

on

“Price Tag” is a song by British recording artist Jessie J featuring American rapper B.o.B. It was released on 28 January 2011 in the United Kingdom as the second single from Jessie J’s debut studio album, “Who you are”. Jessie J, Claude Kelly and Dr. Luke wrote it.

In general is a mid to up-tempo “feel good” track, inflected with reggae-ish bounce and a sing-along chorus with strong vocals from Jessie J, slinky guitars, and a vintage backbeat. Lyrically, the song is about Jessie J trying to make the world dance by forgetting about how much money we have, all the financial problems etc.

I do not know if a bass player recorded this bass line. Did not find any information in the CD booklet or online. If you know who is the bass player let me know.

In general it is a pretty straightforward pop song/bass line. It is not a hard bass line, however important is the sound, the time, length of the notes etc. It would be good if you glance at Igor Saavedras – Bass Pattern article since he is referring to the repetitive minimalism approach of a bass line.

The transcription shows the basic groove of the song for educational purposes only.
