Flea To Release Solo EP: Red Hot Chili Peppers’ low-end master Flea is set to release a 6-song EP entitled Helen Burns on August 9th. The recording, which was recorded back in 2007 following the Chili Peppers’ “Stadium Arcadium” tour, is radically different from anything the band has released to date. “It does not have songs that are like the Chili Peppers at all,” says Flea. “It is a mostly instrumental, weird and arty record, the music is mostly just me creating soundscapes that are very emotional for me, but certainly not for everyone! Just me tripping out at home.”
The EP’s proceeds will benefit the Silver Conservatory Of Music, which is a non-profit organization that Flea co-founded in 2001. An advance preview of the EP is already available for download on the Silver Conservatory website.
