3 Doors Down Bassist Charged With Vehicular Homicide… Todd Harrell, bassist and founding member of the multi-platinum selling band 3 Doors Down, has been charged by Nashville police with vehicular homicide. Police say Harrell’s speeding car clipped a pickup truck on Interstate 40, sending it down an embankment and killing the truck’s driver, 47-year old Paul Howard Shoulders.

In addition, the report states that Harrell seemed to be intoxicated, and admitted to “consuming hard cider and taking prescription Lortab and Xanax.” Harrell, 41,  was searched at Nashville’s Metro Jail where sheriff’s deputies discovered a plastic bag hidden in his sock containing Xanax, Oxycodone and Oxymorphone. This led to an additional charge of bringing controlled substances into jail, where the bassist remains with bail set for $100,000.

3 Doors Down formed in Mississippi in 1996, and rose to international fame with the success of their first single “Kryptonite”. The band has sold over 20 million albums worldwide.
