Bass Player Derek Frank To Tour With Victoria Justice…  Los Angeles bassist Derek Frank will be re-joining Sony Music recording artist Victoria Justice on her upcoming Summer tour. Victoria currently stars in the hit Nickelodeon TV show “Victorious”, where she portrays an up-and-coming singer in a performing arts high school. Derek’s current position with Victoria began in May, 2012 with a live performance on the Ellen DeGeneres show, a one-time show in Orlando, FL with the entire cast of “Victorious”, and then a tour throughout the USA over the Summer of 2012. Derek will once again be taking a break from his current touring gig as bassist for contemporary jazz saxophonist Mindi Abair.

Derek’s year in between Victoria’s tours has been consistently busy with a variety of musical adventures, including: Touring with Mindi Abair, guitarist Jeff Golub, and Ambrosia singer David Pack, a tour of Russia and Belarus opening for Nickelback with Russian artist Troy Harley, performances in LA with American Idol finalists Brandon Rogers and Elliott Yamin, music videos with artists such as Demi Lovato and Elliott Yamin, session work with many different artists in LA studios, recording tracks for people all over the world via his website “Bass Tracks Online”, A clinic at Bass Player Magazine’s 2012 “Bass Player Live” event in Los Angeles, substitute teaching at Hollywood’s Musicians Institute (under the direction of Stuart Hamm), and a performance with his own band at Bryan Beller’s annual event “WesFest”.

Derek has been active as a touring and studio bassist on the Los Angeles music scene for a number of years. In 2009, he released his debut solo album “Let the Games Begin…”, a collection of mostly-instrumental old-school funk, with of course, much focus on his bass playing. Since that release, he has been performing his music with his own band at Los Angeles clubs, and has also been sharing his music through his clinics at music-focused colleges.
