Charnett Moffett Releases First Solo Bass Project, THE BRIDGE… The virtuoso bassist Charnett Moffett released his first solo bass CD, The Bridge (Solo Bass Works) on April 9, 2013, on the multi-Grammy-nominated Motéma label in their 10^th anniversary year. A second release, the electric-leaning ensemble project, Spirit of Sound, is slated for July 9.

Respected jazz critic Howard Mandel states in his liner notes for the project, “Complete even when totally alone, Charnett Moffett is the bridge.” The Bridge connects everything Charnett has done previously with many of the music legends he has performed with. Charnett explains his concept:  I wanted to express who I am, carry on the tradition of the greats who preceded me, and also contribute to the art form by challenging myself to construct my own standard of solo bass excellence. The idea is to understand music in different dimensions. I think it’s imperative that an artist work in such ways.
