Mike Zabrin to release “(You Are) Extraordinary” Music Video

Getdown Entertainment presents bassist Mike Zabrin’s debut single and video “(You Are) Extraordinary” on May 21st, 2013. This is Zabrin’s first release under the LA-based label that also houses funk supergroup the Big Ol’ Nasty Getdown which features George Clinton, members of Derek Trucks Band, P-Funk, Fishbone, Graham Central Station, amongst an extensive list of other amazing folks.

“(You Are) Extraordinary” features the romantic lyrics of Rico Sisney coupled with the strong harmonies of Sam Trump. Their combined sound brings a style of hip hop and jazz that is reminiscent of Robert Glasper. Zabrin’s accomplished bass grooves, bring a fresh vibe to an already classy sound. Produced by John Weeden, this music video gives an eclectic view of the lyric driven song while retaining the mystery of Zabrin in the background. The clever distribution of the lyrics give the viewer an unfamiliar yet hip way to take in a new song.

Endorsed by Warwick Basses, Mike Zabrin is racing to the forefront of the music scene. Boasting an impressive resume at the age of 22, Zabrin has shared the stages with blues legend Buddy Guy, Nick Moss, Brian Culbertson, and Mike Stern.

In addition to the release of “(You Are) Extraordinary,” Zabrin has teamed up with John Heintz, producer of the aforementioned Big Ol’ Nasty Getdown and the two are currently working on a new track featuring members of Kool and the Gang, Yo Mama’s Big Fat Booty Band, and Sun Ra Sun Ra Arkestra.
