Bassist Jessica Wilkes of J.D. Wilkes US Touring with Dirt Daubers

Lord Mayor Of Dublin, Ireland Welcomes J.D. Wilkes, with Bassist Jessica Wilkes – Wilkes Continues U.S. Touring With Band The Dirt Daubers Promoting New LP, Wild Moon, Out Now On Plowboy Records.

Plowboy Records announces cultural exchange under UNESCO program featuring label artist and acclaimed author J.D. Wilkes of the band The Dirt Daubers. A formal exchange of gifts and goodwill is scheduled to take place May 3rd between Dublin, Ireland’s Lord Mayor and Paducah, Kentucky based musician J.D. Wilkes. Wilkes, will travel to Dublin to present his book “Barn Dances and Jamborees Across Kentucky” as an illustration of Ireland’s influence on Kentucky music.

“I am honored to be chosen to represent my hometown in this prestigious exchange of art and literature,” J.D. Wilkes enthused, adding “Kentucky and Ireland share a common culture, a lyrical cadence and even a geological vein! Whether it’s the Bluegrass State or the Emerald Isle, I always feel right at home.”J.D. Wilkes and The Dirt Daubers recently released, Wild Moon, their third album to much praise. ” Wild Moon, marks the band’s growth from an acoustic roots project to an amped-up quartet, soaked with blues and rockabilly,” writes the Missoula News. San Francisco Bay Guardian adds “Wilkes—a bonafide Kentucky Colonel formed The Dirt Daubers in 2009 with his wife Jessica…the album finds them mixing traditional sounds with an infectious rock attitude and approach.”

J.D. Wilkes and The Dirt Daubers is Colonel J.D. Wilkes (vocals, harmonica, banjo), Jessica Wilkes (vocals and upright bass), plus fellow Legendary Shack Shaker Rod Hamdallah (guitar) and Preston Corn (drums).
