Bass Review: Ibanez AELBT1 Baritone Acoustic/Electric Guitar

For those of us that like the twang of a baritone guitar, you really can’t go wrong with the Ibanez AELBT1 Baritone Acoustic/Electric Guitar. The guitar is tuned a perfect fourth below a standard guitar tuning with the tuning being B, E, A, D, F#, and B. The Ibanez AELBT1 Baritone Acoustic/Electric is perfect for sitting in the sonic boundaries between bass and guitar. Warm rich tones are abundant and it is a lot of fun to play. While there may be a little learning curve due to the different tuning, the time spent is well worth it. If you are familiar with 5 or 6 string bass and guitar chords, you will be plucking away in no time. This is also great for acoustic gigs, where bass might not be necessary, but you still need to fill in that sonic gap. The baritone guitar first came along in classical music, then western, and progressed to be used in quite a few rock bands.

The Ibanez AELBT1 Baritone Acoustic/Electric Guitar is constructed of spruce for the top, mahogany for the neck, back, and sides, and a rosewood fretboard and bridge. The body has a gloss finish and a satin finish for the neck. The neck is 27” scale and the strings are D’Addario EXP 23’s made specifically for baritone guitars. The pickup is a Fishman Sonicore equipped with an Ibanez AEQ-SP2 preamp complete with tuner. The electronics are powered by a 9-volt battery and you have a choice of two outputs, 1/4” or XLR. The hardware consisting of tuners and endpins are chrome. Complement you tone and creativity. Check out the Ibanez AELBT1 Baritone Acoustic/Electric Guitar at a music retailer near you!
