This is a classic in the mainstream… Green Day’s “Longview”!
The debut single from their 1994 album called Dookie. The song was their first single to top the Modern Rock chart in the U.S. The music video for “Longview”is credited for breaking the band into mainstream popularity. The band received four Grammy Award nominations for the song in 1995. The Rolling Stone Magazine ranked it at #3 on the list of Best Singles of 1994. The single was a #1 hit in the US Alternative Songs (Billboard). Bassist Mike Dirnt has stated that the famous bass intro to this song was written one night while he was high on LSD.
