Review – Darkglass Electronics Duality Fuzz Engine

The Duality Fuzz Engine pedal is a fun pedal that was a joy to play. In the video we go over the features and show its dynamic range.

Duality Fuzz Engine Specs:

Dimension

11.3×7.5 cm (4.45×2.95 in)

Features

  • Level: Sets the volume of the overdriven signal.
  • Filter: Controls the amount of high frequency content in the fuzz signal.
  • Blend: Mixes the clean input signal with the overdriven signal. The clean signal remains at unity gain while the Level knob, allowing for fine control of the blend ratio, sets the volume of the overdriven signal.
  • Duality: Mixes two discrete fuzz circuits. Set it at minimum for a pure gated saw-tooth wave, or crank it up for tighter high gain fuzz.

Rating:

Construction: 5 out of 5, incredibly durable and well put together with a solid chassis.

Versatility: 5 out of 5, a wide dynamic range for a fuzz pedal that can sound anywhere from mildly growly to full on saturation of the signal for crazy Electronic tones.

Value: 4.8 out of 5, with a price tag of $249 it does classify in the boutique range. That being said, if you are looking for a fuzz that is equipped for extensive studio and touring work, it’s a worthwhile investment.

4.9 out of 5
