Solo Bassist Luke Vajsar Announces Latest Album, Hyenas

Toronto, Ontario, Canada’s solo bassist Luke Vajsar is proud to announce his latest album, “Hyenas”. This album features Luke’s original loop style bass guitar playing approach as well as showcases his vocal, guitar, and trombone prowess. Percussion on the album was performed by none other than his brother, percussionist Andrew Vajsar.

The album is Luke’s most complex production to date, with the recording and mixing done by Toronto’s Skycrib Studios (Luca d’Addario and Scott Keenan), as well as mastering completed by Phil Demetro at Lacquer Channel Mastering.

Luke has recently been featured in the UK’s “iBass Magazine”, where he got a chance to talk about the album as well as share his musical approach to innovative writing and gear selection. iBass Magazine stated,

“Having developed his own personal style and with a new album pending, Luke’s subliminal bass tones and his use of layered sounds certainly show the bass in a new light, with his often guitar-like playing style subtly guiding each composition.” – Nick Wells

Aside from Luke Vajsar’s original melodic bass playing, genres of funk, soul, jazz, psychedelic, and rock can be heard throughout the recording.

When not on the road, Luke regularly performs in Toronto where he holds a weekly residency at Motel Bar (1235 Queen St. West) in the Parkdale neighborhood of Toronto.
