Hello bass players and fans of bass playing! This is it… Welcome to Groove Wars!

I hope that you can enjoy this and learn a lot about great BASS LINES!

Due to the death last month of the great songwriter and frontman, Chris Cornell. I have decided to pay a very special tribute to his legacy. This month, I have the grooves of two excellent songs from one of his bands, Soundgarden.

Grunge Groove Battle:

Soundgarden’s “Outshined” vs “Spoonman.”

Both compositions are hit singles in the grunge music era. Notice the use of odd meters in the verses and how they change to 4/4 in the choruses. The grooves are in dropped D tuning. So, get ready for an outstanding Grunge Groove Battle!
