Big Words sounds like a funk band in a fever dream. Bassist Josh Myers is known for straddling the borders of jazz, rock and soul, particularly by supplying his steady low-end to Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds. Branching out from that in his own endeavor, he applies his harmonic compositions and sonic wanderlust to this instrumental band where the musical possibilities are endless. As per Aural Wes, “Big Words performances are fiery and funky, and the music doesn’t let up until the room is sweating.” Big Words is re-releasing their 2010 album “Chimera” and announcing summer shows featuring Snarky Puppy’s Chris Bullock on saxophone, Eric Krasno Band’s Danny Mayer on guitar, and Max Creek’s Bill Carbone on drums. Look for more shows around the Northeast throughout the summer and beyond.
