The Nathan Brown Trio to release new recording “This is the Moment “on Gut String Records…

Every so often a musician and his ensemble come along and stamp their name on today’s musical landscape. With their new release “This is the Moment” (Release Date: September 8th, 2017), led by bassist Nathan Brown, the trio does just that. Joined on the new release by Felix Lemerle on guitar and Peter Traunmueller on drums, Brown and his comrades show why their musicianship and compositional skills are gaining the attention they deserve. The new release is a collection of original compositions along with interpretations of selections from Walter Davis Jr, Grant Green, Leslie Bricusse and Frederik Hollander. About Nathan Brown:

Nathan began playing music at the age of five. Later he attended Michigan State University and studied jazz bass with Rodney Whitaker and classical bass with Jack Budrow. He then went on to receive a Masters in Music at Northern Illinois University. Now Living in New York City, Nathan has performed with world renowned artists such as Wess “Warmdaddy” Anderson, Frank Morgan, Paquito D’Rivera, John Faddis, Lewis Nash, Marquis Hill, and many others. He has performed at esteemed venues and festivals worldwide including Jazz at Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center, and the Detroit International Jazz Festival. About Felix Lemerle:

Félix Lemerle is a New York City based jazz guitarist & composer from Paris, France. After his undergrad at the CRR de Paris, he received his MA at Queens College on a Fulbright scholarship. He has performed with the likes of Ari Roland, Cyrille Aimée, Peter & Will Anderson, Freddie Redd, Alain Jean-Marie at venues and festival such as Chris’ Jazz Cafe, BLU Jazz+, Dirty Dog, Sunset/Sunside, Jazz in Marciac. Félix received acclaim at the Eddie Lang guitar competition 2012 where he won 1st prize and at Smietana guitar competition 2015 where he won 2nd prize.   www.felixlemerle.com

About Peter Traunmueller:

Peter Traunmueller, originally from Salzburg, Austria, is a New York City based drummer, arranger, and composer. Peter studied with Jeff Boudreaux and Dejan Pecenko at Anton Bruckner Privatuniversität  and relocated to New York City to work with artists such as Jed Levy, Assaf Kehati, Jon Davis, Jim Cammack, Milo Z, John Stetch among many others. He has played at venues such as Lincoln Center, Blue Note NYC, Blues Alley, Cornelia Street Café, and Smalls.
