Ty Dolla $ign’s New Album, BEACH HOUSE 3
Atlantic recording artist Ty Dolla $ign is back with BEACH HOUSE 3…
BEACH HOUSE 3 – which marks the long awaited follow-up to the multiple GRAMMY® Award-nominated star’s 2015 breakthrough debut album, FREE TC – includes a number of critically applauded hip-hop hits, among them “Dawsin’s Breek (Feat. Jeremih),” “Message in a Bottle,” “Love U Better (Feat. Lil Wayne & The-Dream),” and “So Am I (Feat. Damian Marley & Skrillex).” The album has received a wide range of advance attention in the weeks since its official announcement, with the Los Angeles Times noting, “The latest installment in (Ty Dolla $ign’s) ‘BEACH HOUSE’ series is already shaping up to be a party…(Ty) has helped redefine L.A. radio with melodic hooks and his lush, hedonistic blend of R&B and rap. His muscular debut, 2015’s FREE TC, showed the singer-songwriter-producer-multi-instrumentalist had an eye on pop stardom with its mix of confessionals, ribald party starters and commentary on the penal system.”
In addition to appearances from Jeremih, Lil Wayne, The-Dream, YG, Damian Marley, Skrillex and Lauren Jauregui, fans can also expect features from Pharrell, Wiz Khalifa, MadeinTYO, Torey Lanez, Future, Swae Lee and 24hrs. Fans can also expect to hear production from the likes of Mike WiLL Made-It, 30 Roc, Hitmaka, Bongo ByTheWay and more.
FREE TC firmly established Ty as a major solo superstar, fueled by a series of hit singles including the RIAA platinum certified “Blasé (Feat. Future & Rae Sremmurd)” and the gold certified “Saved (Feat. E-40).” Praised by The New York Times as “easily one of the best R&B albums of the year,” FREE TC also proved a critical sensation, with a cover feature in LA Weekly’s annual “Music Issue” declaring him to be “the go-to male singer in all of hip hop.” “Rap’s reigning hooksmith,” exclaimed The Guardian, noting how FREE TC “showcase(s) an expansive sonic palette ranging from stripped-down songcraft to first-rate radio fare.” FREE TC ultimately was featured on a wide span of year-end lists including Rolling Stone’s “20 Best R&B Albums of 2015” and NPR Music’s “50 Favorite Albums of 2015.”
A GRAMMY® Award-nominated singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist, Ty was among the nominees at the 2017 BET Hip Hop Awards, earning nods for “Sweet 16: Best Featured Verse” on Juicy J’s “Ain’t Nothing (Feat. Wiz Khalifa & Ty Dolla $ign)” and “Impact Track” for Lecrae’s “Blessings (feat. Ty Dolla $Ign).” In addition, the California-based superstar recently stole the show at VH1’s Hip Hop Honors: The ‘90s Game Changers, opening the festivities with a vocal rendition of Montell Jordan’s timeless “This Is How We Do It” and later performing alongside the legendary Warren G for the classic “Regulate.”
Born Tyrone Griffin Jr., Ty Dolla $ign has been an in-demand writer, producer, and featured artist since helming YG’s 2010 smash, “Toot It and Boot It (Feat. Ty Dolla $ign).” Ty Dolla $ign made a major splash with 2014’s critically-acclaimed “BEACH HOUSE EP,” highlighted by the RIAA platinum certified “Paranoid (Feat. B.o.B)” and 3x platinum smash, “Or Nah (Feat. Wiz Khalifa & The Weeknd).” He’s also been credited with writing several hits such including Rihanna’s 3X platinum hit “FourFiveSeconds” with Kanye West and Paul McCartney , Chris Brown’s “Loyal,” and most recently Gucci Mane’s “Enormous.”
Ty is among the most popular featured artist of the modern era. Highlights include Fifth Harmony’s 5x platinum certified, Teen Choice Award-winning chartbuster “Work From Home (Feat. Ty Dolla $ign),” Kanye West’s “Fade (Feat. Post Malone & Ty Dolla $ign)” and “Real Friends (Feat. Ty Dolla $ign),” Chance the Rapper’s “Blessings (Reprise) (Feat. Ty Dolla $ign),” Jason Derulo’ 5x platinum “Swalla (Feat. Nicki Minaj & Ty Dolla $ign)”, 2 Chainz’s “It’s A Vibe (Feat. Ty Dolla $ign, Trey Songz & Jhené Aiko”), Joe Moses Feat. Ty Dolla $ign’s “On My Bumper,” and of course “Sucker For Pain” by Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa & Imagine Dragons with Logic and Ty Dolla $ign (Feat. X Ambassadors).” The latter track – featured on SUICIDE SQUAD: THE ALBUM, Atlantic Records’ chart-topping musical companion to the Warner Bros. Pictures film – has proven a crossover phenomenon, currently riding high at #1 on “Hot Rap Songs” while also standing tall as a top 3 fave on “Hot Rock Songs” and a top 15 hit on the overall “Hot 100.” The “Sucker For Pain” companion video is an equivalent blockbuster, currently boasting more than 475 million YouTube views and counting.
