BagEnd S15-N Review

New and part of the Musical Instrument Systems from BagEnd is the S15-N.

The S15-N is a single 15” speaker enclosure that has been designed for electric/acoustic bass and Chapman Stick, but can also be used with electric guitar, mandolin and banjo.

I’ve always heard great things about anything from BagEnd and after using the S15-N on gigs and checking it out off the gig as well, I can see why.

This is one of the tightest speakers I have ever come across, almost being similar to a 10” speaker. It produces a low, tight, and clean bass response. Pairing the S15-N with another S15-N or a 2-10 BagEnd would make for the perfect bass rig, and the Musical Instrument Systems enclosures are easily stackable. The BagEnd S15-N 15” speaker has an 80 oz magnet, handles 300 watt continuous/600 watt program, rated at 8 Ohms, and is completed with the input being Neutrik speakOn and 1/4” combo jack.

The enclosure is solid and rugged, ready for the road.

The S15-N enclosure is constructed of 15mm 11-ply birch plywood and finished with coated nebula. The nebula finish is pretty much indestructible and resistant to water, chemicals, UV rays, and abrasion. I have come to the conclusion that the BagEnd S15-N will always have that new look with the coated nebula finish with proper cleaning and care.

The speaker grille is 16 gauge and black powder coated and the hardware is 2, spring loaded recessed hands and eight feet.

There are recessed slots for wheels for easy transport, however even without the wheels it is easy to transport weighing in at only 46 lbs.
