A beauty, total work of art, that’s what the Ibanez SR1705BE Premium 5-String Bass is.

Playability and tone options are spot-on, with the choice between active and passive electronics. The Nordstrand single coil pickups really beef up the SR1705BE too. This is an all around great bass.

Ibanez is known for constructing great basses and they are always consistent no matter the model type.

All of the Ibanez basses come ready to play and the SR1705BE is no exception to that. SR basses have been around for a little over 30 years and have stood the test of time. This one has a fast neck and is fun to play. The 3-way mid-switch really gives you a lot of options for tone in the mid-range section. The SR1705BE is great for many genres as well, both for live and recording.

The Ibanez SR1705BE is constructed of a Poplar Burl and Walnut top, along with a Mahogany body.

The neck is an Atlas 5 type with 5-piece construction of Panga Panga and Purpleheart, complete with KTS Titanium rods; this neck is NOT going to move. The 24-fret fretboard is bound Panga Panga, completed with Abalone oval inlays, which are very striking and eye pleasing. It is finished off with medium frets, completed with premium fret edge treatment. Both the neck and bridge pickups are passive Nordstrand Big Single coils. The active 3 band EQ is the Ibanez custom with a 3-way mid frequency control switch with options between 250Hz, 450Hz, and 700Hz, also having controls for Bass, Mid, and Treble. There is a switch to bypass active EQ and the treble control works as a tone control in passive mode. Rounding out the controls are Volume and Balance. All of the hardware is Black Matte with the bridge being the MR5 mono-rail V with 16.5 mm spacing and the Tuners are Gotoh machine heads. The nut is Graph Tech Black Tusq XL.
