PreSonus Eris HD10BT Headphones Review

The PreSonus Eris HD10BT Headphones, as stated by PreSonus are, “Professional headphones with active noise canceling and Bluetooth wireless technology.”

That statement pretty much covers it all, but I think the PreSonus Eris HD10BT Headphones are even more than that.

The HD10BT Headphones are my new ”go-to” headphones.

Not are the only great for use when recording, they are tremendous for many other things. They pair well with any Bluetooth device, I used them when watching  TV connected to my Avantree Bluetooth receiver, listen to music on my iPhone, and used it to connect to my headphone out on my PreSonus HP4. They give you a very high-quality studio sound that is literally music to your ears.

I need to mention that the HD10BTs don’t run just on Bluetooth, they have a detachable cable so you can connect them to your devices in a traditional manner with a 1/8” audio cable, which is included, and if needed a 1/4” audio adapter is included as well. There is also a built-in microphone that can be used for basic call functions.

On the right side of the PreSonus Eris HD10BT Headphones are the Bluetooth power and pairing controls along with the volume controls.

The Bluetooth control also gives you the ability to answer, reject, and redial the last number called. The volume controls also allow you to choose the previous track and next track when paired with your Bluetooth device. On the left side of the headphones is the 1/8” audio connection, active noise canceling selection, and the USB charging port.

On the technical side, the HD10BT Headphones are of the ‘closed cup’, circumaural type, with circumaural meaning that the cups, which are the parts containing the speakers, completely cover your ears.

The drivers are 40mm and 16ohm, with a frequency response from 20Hz to 20 kHz for the headphones. The built-in microphone has a frequency response from 100Hx to 100kHz.

The Bluetooth will function up to 33 feet from your device and the lithium battery has a life of 16 hours with the active noise canceling off and 8 hours with the active noise canceling on.

The controls are power, pair, call answer, volume, and ANC (active noise canceling) on/off.

Included with the PreSonus Eris HD10BT Headphones are a USB charging cable, 1/8″ audio cable, 1/8″ to 1/4″ audio adapter, and hardshell carrying case. I must say, it’s really nice to have a hardshell case for your headphones for the ultimate protection, and of course, that goes along with the HD10BT Headphones, being the ultimate headphones for everything from the studio to personal use.
