In order to better understand the electric bass, I believe one must talk to the pioneers who were there pushing the envelope as the instrument evolved. Bassist Steve Swallow is one of those players. With over sixty-five years of playing bass, Steve made the bold decision to set the upright aside and dedicate himself entirely to electric bass.
Now, we are being treated to “Swallow Tales” a new release totally comprised of Steve’s compositions with John Scofield on guitar, Bill Stewart on drums and of course Steve on bass.
