Signed Rocco Prestia Bass For Sale To Benefit The Francis Rocco Prestia Bass Scholarship At The Berklee College Of Music…

Signed Rocco Prestia Bass… Alicia and Julian Prestia, the children of the late, great Tower of Power finger-funk legend Francis “Rocco” Prestia have teamed up with friends to sell a one-of-a-kind Conklin Groove Tools GTRP-4 Rocco Prestia Signature Bass.

The instrument, built in 2003, was played on tour by Rocco, and is signed by 26 bass and music notables, including Rocco, Stanley Clarke, Victor Wooten, Marcus Miller, Billy Sheehan, Will Lee, Lee Sklar, Bonnie Raitt, Jackson Browne, Stevie Nicks, Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, and Sheryl Crow.

One hundred percent of the proceeds will go to the Francis Rocco Prestia Bass Scholarship at the Berklee College of Music, which was organized by Berklee Artist Relations guru Barbara Thomas.

The bass weighs approximately 9 lbs and features a Swamp Ash body, three-piece maple bolt-on neck, 21-fret Birdseye Maple fingerboard, custom-wound Bartolini P and J pickups, two-band preamp, high-mass bridge, the original roundwound strings, and Hipshot lightweight tuning machines. It comes in a hardshell case, with a certificate of authenticity signed by Rocco’s longtime manager, Jack Forchette.

In addition, Mike Connolly, founder and President of MJC Ironworks strings, will provide a year’s worth of free bass strings to the buyer.

The instrument has a reserve price and the purchase is tax-deductible. For more information and to make an offer contact Barbara Thomas via email [brthomas@berklee.edu].
