5 Ways to Create a Bass Line – Part I

Hello bass players and fans of bass playing!

This month we are going to cover the first of five parts on how to build a bass line.

Here are five examples of the most basic way to create a bass line. As you can see, the examples are using the root of each chord to set the groove. Each example is based on the same chord progression: C – Am – F – G.

That’s all! The first way to create a bass line is by grooving with the root note of the chord. This concept, like the following ones, can be applied to all musical genres.
