Jedd Chlebowski, All Alone…

“Jedd Chlebowski has recorded a great collection of bass soundscapes. By utilizing multi-tracking and assorted effects he has created a very personal and highly creative statement on the bass. Take the time to sit back and enjoy this inspired music.” Mark Egan (Pat Metheny, Gil Evans, Sting, Joan Osborne)

“With his new release “All Alone”, Jedd Chlebowski demonstrates a plethora of tonal and multifunctional possibilities from the electric bass, while simultaneously providing an incredibly tasteful and musical experience…no small feat! Chlebowski is an incredibly skilled and musical bass player who defies categorization in the field of instrumental music. Highly recommended!” – Derek Frank (Gwen Stefani, Shania Twain)

“Jedd carries on the noble tradition of bassists stepping away from their supportive bandstand role for a solo turn, and offers an intriguing taste of what happens when the bass does all the things we expect to hear from the other instruments: melody, harmony, rhythm, and song form — all from the agile, dancing fingers of a bass master…” Dave Anderson (Blood, Sweat & Tears, Bernie Williams Collective, Bill Evans)

“Sounds great! Good strong sounds! I love the sounds and the compositions!” Tim Lefebvre (David Bowie, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Wayne Krantz)

All Alone is the second solo release by Jedd Chlebowski but the first as a solo electric bassist. His first CD, Jedd Chlebowski Featuring Special Guests, was a rock CD of original music featuring such talent as Kenny Aronoff (John Mellencamp, John Fogerty), Vernon Reid (Living Colour), Gilby Clarke (Guns N Roses) and more.

All Alone is a collection of original songs taken from Jedd’s live solo performances. These nine songs are an exploration of sounds, tones, musical textures and improvisation. Originally utilizing loop pedals and effect pedals, Jedd decided early on to expand his color palette and quickly began incorporating software to allow him access to the drum set and percussion sounds as well as unlimited other sounds and tonal landscapes. Some songs have a clearly defined structure while others are an open-ended exploration of musical elements. Melody is ever-present as part of the song structure and in his solos.

“I really enjoy the flexibility this set-up affords me. I like being able to completely upend the original intention of the song based on the environment, my mood, the mood of the audience…I have the freedom to express myself musically in the moment.” This fluid and eclectic blend of musical styles has allowed Jedd to perform in unusual venues and with acts from a variety of genres.
