The Immediate Family, Live from Telefunken Soundstage…

The esteemed supergroup, The Immediate Family, will release their new EP Live from Telefunken Soundstage on May 13 via Quarto Valley Records. The six-song live recording was captured at Telefunken’s Connecticut headquarters in November of 2021 during a stop in the group’s recent nationwide tour. In conjunction with the release, a rollout of videos will premiere on Telefunken’s YouTube “Live from the Lab” series. Live from Telefunken Soundstage will be available via all digital platforms.

The six-song set, performed live on Telefunken’s state of the art soundstage, features the original songs “Slippin and Slidin’,” “Divorced,” “Fair Warning,” and “House Will Fall,” along with the perennial hits “Somebody’s Baby” (a Danny Kortchmar/Jackson Browne collaboration) and “Dirty Laundry” (penned by Danny Kortchmar/Don Henley).

Danny Kortchmar commented, “We had a blast during our recent visit to Telefunken. As a musician, recording artist and producer, I have used Telefunken products my whole career, and they have always been synonymous with quality, so it was great to experience some of that magic on-site. And I think our band played great, and I am proud to show everyone the live EP that we cooked up. Thanks to Telefunken for having us.”

Steve Postell added, “We had a great time at the Telefunken factory and onstage. Founder Toni Fishman and his staff are committed to what they’re doing and carrying on a tradition of quality. Just to be around that is wonderful because we want to keep all that quality alive. Everybody was really warm and inviting to us, and our friend Alan Venitosh put together a great benefit show with Alan Friedman and FKCO.”The Immediate Family’s Telefunken performance was a benefit charity concert for AANE, the Asperger’s/AUTISM Network. The event was presented by local CT recording artist Alan Friedman, who is also a prominent entertainment CPA and managing partner of Friedman, Kannenberg & Company of Farmington, Connecticut.

This iconic supergroup has played together for decades, but never as their own band. Known for their long, illustrious careers backing Hall of Fame artists like James Taylor, Keith Richards, Jackson Browne, Linda Ronstadt, Carole King, Stevie Nicks and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, guitarists Danny Kortchmar and Waddy Wachtel, drummer Russ Kunkel, and bassist Leland Sklar have come together, along with guitarist Steve Postell, to perform their own songs as The Immediate Family.

Live From Telefunken Soundstage comes on the heels of the band’s recent self-titled album, which debuted at #6 on Billboard’s Blues Chart, preceded by the EPs Slippin’ and Slidin’ and Can’t Stop Progress.

The new live EP serves as a bridge to the band’s forthcoming second studio album on Quarto Valley Records and highly anticipated documentary, directed by Danny Tedesco (The Wrecking Crew). The film is expected to be released later this year.
